| Software Engineer |
 |
| Aug 2001 - Current |
VeCommerce Pty. Ltd |
Sydney, NSW |
 |
 |
(02/03 - current)
A telecommunication giant requires a Speech Recognition system to handle calls to service their
mobile and multimedia customers. My responsibilities were to
-
Design and implement a presales application on Genesys Telera platform with Speechworks' Openspeech
Recognizer and Speechify
-
Liaised with USA and local Genesys engineers to report and solve platform issues.
-
Provide VoiceXML and Web Application expertise.
|
(01/03 - current)
A media giant specialising in telephone bill paying and share price callback system has recently
requested a system to be fully configurable for handling telephone credit card payment using Natural
Language Speech Recognition (NLSR) technology. My responsibilities in the project is to
-
Design and implement the configurable external interface to handle messaging translation and complex
calculation for callflow. (C/C++)
|
(09/01 - 06/02)
The Ladbrokes Wagering System (VeBet) was the first fixed odds wagering system developed using NLSR
technology. It was recognized as the most complex speech recognition system developed when it was deployed
in May 2002. I was part of the core design and development team. My responsibilities were to
-
Design and implement a multithreaded B2B XML interface between VeBet Engine and Labrokes's host (C/C++,
COM/COM+)
-
Design and implement core driver libraries to handle TCP/IP communication, HTTP wrapper and XML
translation in C/C++ (WIN32 API)
-
Together with a DBA, design and installation of database using Oracle 8 and 9i client
|
(06/02 - 09/02)
Suncorp's NLSR call routing system was the first of such technology used in the world. I was widely involved
in the development of the system currently installed in Brisbane. My responsibilities in the Suncorp project
were to
-
Designed and implemented an in house tool to speed up 'tagging' process by implementing a GUI interface
to a Access Database for tag entry. This tool helped to analyse the way of how people spoke and help tune
the system to reach 97% call completion. (VB, Perl scripting for data processing)
-
Design and implement VeWoz, a tool used to correct and tune the live NLSR system at Suncorp
-
Designing and implementing the GUI to interface with an ActiveX component developed at VeCommerce NZ. (VB, C/C++)
-
Managing changes to the ActiveX component with International development teams, mostly based in New Zealead.
-
Installing and training Suncorp call centre staff at Brisbane offices in using VeWoz.
|
(09/02 - 02/03)
Pizza Hut's NLSR automated ordering system is currently the only system in the world to handle automated ordering. It is clearly
one of the most complex system developed by VeCommerce. My responsibility in the Pizza Hut team was to
-
Design and implement complex logic in pizza ordering call-flow
-
Design and implemented real-time configurability in the Pizza Hut systems.
-
Integration with the VePay (Credit Carad Payment) module into the Pizza Hut system
-
Perl and shell scripting to filter analytical data from logs for billing purposes

 |
| Software Engineer |
 |
| Dec 1999 - Aug 2001 |
Bullant Technology Pty. Ltd |
Sydney, NSW |
 |
 |
-
Implementing a significant part of the Bullant Demonstration Portal, this portal enabled
Bullant users to experience the real-time capabilities as well as the broad range of
applications the Bullant's Network Application Server can provide.
-
Automation scripts using Perl and Shell Scripts in an Unix/Linux environment. These
scripts were required to port a large repository of source to a new platform.
